Our last show of the year
On Friday November 20th we played at L'Inspecteur Épingle our last show of 2015.
Back from his tour across Canada and Europe, singer/songwriter Milo McMahon also played that night with his brand new band, The Fine Line.
After playing more shows than ever this year, we'll take some time to work on new songs.
What If Elephants EP Launch
On Octobert 22nd we played with What If Elephants at their EP Launch party at Petit Campus in Montreal. Ben Cardilli opened the night with an acoustic set.
Bucketlist Music Reviews was there and said about our set that "it must be difficult to fit that much enthusiasm on a stage. But they did it, and we saw it. And it was awesome". There was a great vibe that night and we had a lot of fun.
Indie Night at Petit Campus
On Friday May 29th we played on the Indie Night at Petit Campus in Montreal with The Mighty Ffud, Sawtooth and Sunminds.
According to CultMTL, it was one of the "8 shows to shatter your mind" that week.
TV performance & radio interview
During our last trip to Toronto we not only played at Canadian Music Week, we were also invited to preform two songs for TFO's tv show BRBR.
We played our songs Energy and Numbers off of our debut EP. We can't wait to share those videos with you.
We also sat down with Sammy from Girth Radio to discuss about what's been keeping us busy lately and the new projects with our band.
Keep an eye on this page, our facebook and twitter for more updates about this.
Sofar Sounds Montreal
On April 30th we participated on a secret living room show organized by Sofar Sounds in Montreal.
We shared the night with UK singer/songwriter Josh Savage and the folk duo Barren Acres.
For those of you who never went to a Sofar show, we recommend you to check them out. They organize intimate concerts in living rooms around the world. Their guests find out where the show is going to be only 24 hours before, and they only discover who will play once they arrive at the secret location.
For this event got to work on stripped down versions of our songs. It was extra special for us because it was our first show with JF and Gabriel in our band.
Recording Arts Canada
We participated on RAC's first showcase this year. The event took place at La Sala Rossa in Montreal on Tuesday May 12th.
Performing with us that night were The Liquor Store, Noko and Yosh.
Tourisme Montreal recommended this show by Grand Splendid as one of the things to do that week in Montreal.
We also recently participated on one of their Live at RAC sessions and recorded a new song. It was our first time in the studio with the five-piece band.
CMW 2015
We've been invited to play at this year's Canadian Music Week in Toronto.
The impressive line up of this edition of the festival included Death Cab For Cutie, Noel Gallagher, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Scott Weiland, Daniel Lanois and many more.
We played at Rancho Relaxo on the closing night of the festival, Sunday May 10th at 10pm. The other bands that performed with us that night were Adam Washburn & the Elements, Undefined and Skiff, Animalia, The Do Good Badlies and SLO.
The Joy Formidable
UK rock band, The Joy Formidable, selected Grand Splendid as the featured artist on one of their sporadic podcasts. We are big fans of their music and their support was an awesome surprise for us.
If you are not familar with their music, we recommend you go check them out.
NXNE Festival
We were invited to play at the NXNE festival in Toronto in 2014. That edition included performances by St. Vincent, Spoon, Mac Demarco, Spiritualized, tUnE-yArDs and many other great indie artists.
Our showcase, presented by New Music Ten and The Indie Machine, took place at Baltic Avenue on June 18th. Other artists performing that night with us were First You Get The Sugar, Technical Kidman, Old English and Shawn William Clarke.
